INSTALLATION OF PEARL-TEX LOOP JACKET

FOR HEIDELBERG GTO & MO PRESSES

NOTE:            A slotted-point wrench (Heidelberg Part #930194H) or equivalent type is required to complete this installation.

The installation method is the same as the Original Heidelberg Black Jacket or Blue-Net Jacket. Please follow your press operating manual.

Under packing

-   Pearl-Tex Loop Jacket without backing (0.0075” thickness)

Recommended under packing is 0.018” depending on your printing stocks.

-   Pearl-Tex Loop Jacket with backing (backing thickness is 0.030”).

Adjust the under packing and consult the press operating manual for the proper gap between the transfer cylinder and impression cylinder.

STEP 1:          Release the clamping screws with a socket wrench to open the gripper bar on the leading edge.

STEP 2:          With the glass–bead side surface up, insert straight cut end of Pearl-Tex Loop Jacket into gripper bar as far as it will go (approx. 7/8”, refer to laminated film), and tighten clamping screws.

STEP 3:          Hold loop-end of jacket and carefully inch press forward to insure the under packing is installed. Continue inching the press forward until the rear clamping screws appear.

STEP 4:          Existing tension rod (approx. 3/16” dia.) thread into notched Loop (silicon rubber). Insert slotted-point (spigot) wrench under the tension rod, and hook a rod onto the clamping screws.

MAINTENACE:

To remove ink build-up on jacket surface, periodically (at least impression cylinder) clean it with a common type of press-wash solvent using a soft rag. We do not recommend the use of Toluene-Type solvent.

Do not use a scouring pad or a razor blade to clean the dried crud off the jacket’s glass-bead surface.
